HOW TO: Pack a "Coconut Core" Summer Beach Tote

A perfect summer beach tote is a key ingredient for a great day by the sea. There's no better time to embrace the "coconut core" style that includes all things laid-back, bright, and beachy! Here's what I'm packing this summer: 




1. Sunscreen. I burn so easily, and now that I'm in my thirties, taking care of my skin is more important than ever. This Sun Bum sunscreen smells like coconut and blocks the rays!

2. A beach read. I can't wait to dive into Kingdom of Prep, the true story of J. Crew. The brand is an American icon, and according to the rave reviews, the book is a window into how the brand leaders made it happen.

3. Sunglasses. These retro sunnies have a retro feel and just a touch of mermaid colors.

4. A coverup. Bright colors like these are made for the beach! Plus, a stylish coverup turns a swimsuit into an outfit. 

5. A water bottle. The mermaid scales are just as fun for the beach as they are for a car cupholder...there's nothing wrong with taking a little sunshine home with you!

6. A headband. This straw headband is as summery as it gets! 

7. Of course, a trusty tote bag. The nautical navy stripes make this one stand out. It's also water-resistant and machine washable, so you don't need to worry about carrying extra sand home in your suitcase!
